Cannes Day 12: A Day Off?

I had the best sleep all trip last night.  It may or may not have been from passing out after the Creative Minds after-party…but that’s besides the point.  It felt great. This was Day 3 of not being able to get into the big premiere screenings.  The festival was still recovering from the computer crash so all the tickets for the last 3 days were instantly all sold out to Press and Buyers.  So with that in mind, I didn’t even try to see a film today.  I was great having a day off.  Of course, it also meant preparing for one last major party that night.

Had a great lunch at a trattoria downtown. The food was some of the best that I had so far.

Stopped by a theater on the off chance we could get in to a re-run screening of Young and Beautiful; the film that kept slipping away all week. No luck, but caught a look at this poster. I'm so excited. It just better not suck like Origins did.

Spent the afternoon on the beach with some friends. The water was way too cold to go in, but considering all the rain we had during the festival, I really cherished this moment. So peaceful.

That night, the last big bash of the festival; at least for us anyway. The after party for the Court Metrage Short Film Corner was the best party of the entire trip. It was also the only time I ever heard Daft Punk and Frank's "New York New York" in the same party playlist. Their musical taste was definitely a culture shock point for me.

I felt like the king of the world.
